Capcom Generations (カプコン ジェネレーション Capcom Generation) is a five-volume compilation released for the PlayStation and Sega Saturn in Japan in 1998 by Capcom. The first four volumes were released as a bundle in Europe, where they were published by Virgin Interactive. The fifth volume (which included the original releases of Street Fighter II) was the only which got a American release.

Wings of DestinyEdit

The first volume of Capcom Generations, Capcom Generations: Wings of Destiny (カプコン ジェネレーション -第1集 撃墜王の時代- Capcom Generation Dai-ichi-shū Gekitsui Ō no Jidai) features the first three games in the 1940 series: 1942, 1943: The Battle of Midway and 1943 Kai: Midway Kaisen. This is notably the first time that 1943 Kai got released in Europe, while USA would have to wait for the Capcom Classics Collection compilation.

Other VolumesEdit

  • The second volume, Chronicles of Arthur, included the first three titles of the Ghosts 'n Goblins series.
  • The third volume, The First Generation, included four of Capcom's first titles (Vulgus, SonSon, Pirate Ship Higemaru and Exed Exes).
  • The fourth volume, Blazing Guns, included the two titles of the Senjou no Ookami series (Commando and MERCS) as well as Gun.Smoke
  • The fifth volume, Street Fighter, included the three original versions of Street Fighter II (The World Warrior, Champion Edition and Hyper Fighting). In the USA it was released as Street Fighter Collection 2 (the first collection included the two versions of Super Street Fighter II).
