Super Bomber "Ayako Special" is the first boss from 19XX: The War Against Destiny.
Details[]
Ayako Special is a heavy bomber based on the original Ayako, used by the Outer Limits organization. While sharing many traits with the original, Ayako Special is also a transport aircraft and an aerial aircraft carrier of sorts.
Before the fight Ayako Special will release some Parachute Tanks before engaging the player. Aside of using it's mounted guns to shoot, it will also constantly release smaller crafts. It can be taken out piece by piece, with each blown part flying off and posing a potential hazard if not destroyed.
Another Ayako Special is present in Stage 5, where the players catch it on the ground and towed behind a locomotive. As its wings are folded, the giant aircraft can only defend itself using its dorsal turrets and its payload of tanks. If the players are unable to inflict sufficient damage in time, the aircraft will eventually be towed onto an elevator platform where it will be lifted out of the players' flight path.
A third Ayako Special is encountered in the final mission, fighting in the same manner as the one in Stage 1. After sustaining enough damage, the aircraft will jettison its tails and much of its wings, tilt its remaining wings and engines to vertical to keep itself airborne, and constantly swing the tilted wings around like mechanical arms while shooting lasers.
